Mrs. Lydia Christina Buls, age 77, passed away Saturday, March 19. Mrs. Buls had been a resident of Fort Bend county for the past 55 years.


She was married December 20, 1899 in Grassyville, Texas, where she was born, and then came to this county with her husband. She was a member of the Methodist church all her life.


Funeral services were held Sunday, March 20, at 3:00 o'clock p.m. in the East Bernard Methodist Church. The Rev. S.P. Wright officiated. Interment was in the East Bernard Public Cemetery. Pallbearers were Adolph Horelica, Charlie Sulak, Andrew Walzel, Monroe Overgoner, Ruben Petrusek, and Tex Tavener.


Mrs. Buls is survived by her husband, R.L. Buls of Route 1, Rosenberg; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Mae Ray of Houston, Mrs. Anne Lee Fagert of Rosenberg, and Mrs. Irene Ehrlich of Ridgefield, New Jersey; three sons, Louis W. Buls of Rosenberg, Edwin R. Buls of Rosenberg, and Lee Roy H. Buls of Rosenberg; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister Mrs. Annie Dunk of Giddings; and two brothers, John Behrens of Cost, Texas and Emil Behrens of Giddings.
