Rodney Carlton Lester-Bass 27, of Lima died 3:13 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 at St. Rita¡¯s Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born Jan. 29, 1982 in Lima to Willie Lee Carter, Sr. and Pennie Lester. His father Willie survives in Lima and his mother and stepfather Pennie & Darren Bass also survive in Lima.
Rodney was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church. Lima, graduated form LCC in 1999 and attended University of Toledo. He coached Lima West Middle School Football & Basketball and was a basketball coach for the Lima Rec Center.
Survivors include his fianc¨¦e Nicole Campbell of Lima, foster children Madisyn and Jestin and siblings: Darren Bass, II, Taylor Bass, Willie Carter, Jr., Arthur Carter, Calvin Lasenby, Willie Lasenby, Ruby Carter, Connie Carter, Angel Cowan, Bobbi Carter, Jean Davis, Princess Carter all of Lima, Pergina Carter and Christine Dukes both of Dayton.
A celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday Dec. 19, 2009 at St. Johns Catholic Church Lima with Father Charles Obinwa, celebrant.
Arrangements by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
