DIXON (Solano Co.) Jan. I.—.Abraham Kirby, former sheriff of Solano county and owner of the first drug store in Dixon, which he conducted until a few months ago. died yesterday afternoon at the age of 73 years.

The funeral will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon. under the auspices of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Mr. Kirby was born in England and opened a drug store 50 years ago in the old town of Silveyville. which was moved to the railroad and became known as Dixon. He built a drug store in the new town, and retired a few months ago. He was sheriff from 1882 to I884.

He is survived by a wife, a son. Charles Kirby, and a daughter, Mrs. J. A. Little, all of Dixon. Just months ago Mr. and Mrs. Kirby celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
