ACCIDENT IN FOG TAKES DIXON GIRL
Patsy Ann Dorries Booth, 20, of 261 South Second Street, was killed in an accident on December 5th when her car collided with a heavy truck at the intersection of Roads 24 and 89 near Woodland. It was believed the heavy fog at the time, which greatly reduced visibility, was the major contributing cause of the tragedy, which happened as she was returning home
Born in Altus, Oklahoma, she came with her family to Dixon at an early age and attended elementary schools here. She was a graduate of Dixon High School with the class of 1959. For two years at Riley's store in Dixon and was well known to the local business community.
She married Merril C. Booth, Jr., on March 31, 1961. He had entered the Army in July and was serving at Fort Ord at the time of her accident.
Besides her husband, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otho C. Dorries; two older brothers, Ronald and Sammie Dorries; and uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Winters of Pomona; several cousins, including Mrs. Clarence Gardner of Lodi, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Martin of Brentwood, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Bozarth, Mr. and Mrs. Lowe Winters, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Winters.
Services were held at the Milton Carpenter Funeral Home Friday, December 14, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Dan Pace of the Baptist Church officiating.
Pallbearers were Tommy Burton, Tom Wilson, Ed Burton, Frank Montana, Bill Miller and Jim Dutra. Interment was in Dixon Cemetery.
