Curtis was born to Napoleon Bonaparte Campbell and Martha Delpha Hadley. He married Myrtle Ivan Waldrup about 1925, and they had one daughter, Joyce Lynn Foster. He went to Arizona to work, and was severly burned in a gas explosion. Cause of death was inhalation of smoke and gas. His body was shipped back to Oklahoma for burial next to his parents, a sister, and a niece in the Campbell family plot.
