Ethel was born to Arthur and Lugirtie Cook, in Drumright, Oklahoma. She married John Harlon Campbell on 20 Dec 1940. They had no children. She was a graduate of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She taught in Oliver, Davenport, Pleasant Valley, Barnsdall and Jennings in Oklahoma, just to name a few. Many of them were just one room schools out in the country. She continued her career in Oregon, where they lived when she eventually retired. They then moved to Texas City, Texas, where they both lived out the balance of their lives. They are together in eternal peace in the Campbell family plot in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
