GREENVILLE - Marvin Lee Skinner, 44, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19, 1986, at his home on South Lafayette Road in Montcalm Township following a long illness.
A Montcalm County Commissioner for 10 years, representing District 2 which includes Montcalm, Pine, Douglass and Sidney townships, Mr. Skinner also had been a barber in Greenville for the past 22 years. He was a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge 96 F&AM, and was a member of the Montcalm Township Fire Department for the past 19 years. Mr. Skinner was born Sept. 15, 1941, in Montcalm County, the son of Marvin F.J. Skinner and Emma Jean (Greenhoe) Skinner. On April 28, 1962, he was married to the former Norma Hutson at Grand Rapids. Survivors are his wife, Norma; a daughter, Connie, at home; two sons, Marvin C. and Suzanne of Findley, Ohio, and Jeffery, at home; his parents, Marvin F.J. and Bernice of Lakeview, and Jean and Roger Howes of Grand Ledge; four brothers, Gary and Diana of Mecosta, Jerry and Babs of Lakeview, Richard and Dixie of Trufant, and Dennis and Diane of Dodge City, Kan.; two step-sisters, Laurie Christensen of Texas, and Paula and Wade Loveless of Florida; grandmothers, Flora Skinner of Gowen and Mae Greenhoe of Greenville; and his mother- and father-in-law, C.J. and Reva Hutson of Mecosta. Funeral and committal services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Teman Funeral Home, Greenville, Pastor Steve Young officiating.
Interment will be at Little Denmark Cemetery.
