Josefa Lujan Lucero lived born, lived and died in the same town. She was a school teacher in the Janos / Corralitos area. She married James Annis Lafferty known as Santiago on the 5th Jan 1935. They lived on a small ranch out side of town. Pepa as she was called had 4 children. Two died as infants and she was buried next to them. Pepa died 11 days after giving birth to her 4th child a daughter. She was 27 and her husband Santiago was 67. Santiago gave the two surviving children into the care of Pepa's older sister Nelly "Manuela" and the children were taken to San Diego, California where they grew up. Santiago followed them there and lived close to his children. He died there in 1955.
