Son of William Franklin & Sarah Elizabeth Wise Griffis; survived by wife Catherine Burton Griffis.Herbert R. "Bud" Griffis born March 29, 1927 at Waldo, AR went home to be with his lord on Sunday, January 10, 2010. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of First Presbyterian of Camden and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Herbert loved and was loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by is parents, William Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Wise Griffis; brothers, Burral Griffis, Roy Eugene Grifis, Edward Griffis, Bill Griffis, O'dell " Shorty" Griffis, Albert " Bo" Griffis and A. P. Griffis; sisters, Mattie Lou Childers, Larue McKammie, Gladys Vick and Ruth McCoy. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Burton Griffis of Camden; son, Rick Griffis and wife, Connie; daughter, Linda Nickerson and husband, Charles; grandsons, Thomas Ward of Maumelle, Shane Griffis of Wilmington, NC and Eric Griffis of Madisonville, GA; granddaughters; Cheryl Boardman-Ward of Hanover, MD and Tracie Griffis Hicks of Manila, AR; great granddaughter, Emily Ward of Maumelle; brother, George Griffis and wife, Frances of Bearden, sisters, Emma Lee Dean and husband, W. C. "Dub", Fadis Alexander and husband, Johney, Janie Sue Baken of Newton, MA, Carolyn Lindsey and husband, Thomas of Bearden and Dot Steelman and husband, Eugene of Camden, AR; and leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members
