Reuben Herbert Meckes (Mackes) and Eva Cecilia Christman (daughter of Andrew Christman and Sarah Jan Roth) were married 5 Jan 1907 by Rev. Harrison E. Moyer (Monroe County marriage license #2745).

On 12 September 1918 Reuben registered for the draft of World War I. At that time he was living in Northampton, PA, and was employed as a carpenter by Bryden Lumber Company on Main Street in Catasauqua, PA. He was tall and slender with blue eyes and dark hair.
