PIONEER WOMAN DIED AT GLENCOE
Mrs. M. D. Robinson of Glencoe died yesterday morning, at the age of 90. She would have celebrated her 91st birthday next July. Until a few months ago she enjoyed good health.
Locating in Burleigh county with her husband, C. M. Robinson, in 1880, she endured the hardships of frontier days. With her husband she filed on a claim, later keeping a store and organizing the post office which she had charge of until 12 years ago. She lost her husband several years ago.
Mrs. Robinson was known for her hospitality throughout the Slope. In the early days the stage stopped there twice a day, and the drivers could always expect a hot cup of coffee or tea. The same kindness was shown to the settlers as they passed through Glencoe on their way west.
She was the mother of nine children, but only five survive her: Mrs. Hughie Stevenson, Stark county; Mrs. Frank Pitcher, Sioux Falls, S. D., and Mrs. Robert Lane, Glencoe, and two sons, Thomas and Charles, of Minneapolis.
The funeral will take place Wednesday, at Glencoe. Services will take place at 1:00 p.m., and interment will be at Glencoe cemetery. Rev. Robert Meyers will conduct the services.
