Mrs. Vellie Leach Eccles, of Rt.4, Kersey Road, died in High Point Memorial Hospital, Saturday at 11:45 pm following an extended illness and five weeks of hospitalization. She was born in Randolph County, August 21, 1897, a daughter of James Addison and Eula Parrish Leach. She was married to William E. Eccles, who died in 1963. She was a member of the High Point Friends Meeting. Surviving are two brothers, Willie S. Leach of Rt.4, and James L. Leach of Foust St.; and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Upchurch of Rt.1, Pittsboro. Funeral will be held in Harold C. Davis Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 pm by Cecil E. Hayworth and the Rev. J.A. Grout and the Rev. Ernest Gardner. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
