"Mrs. Helene B. Ritchey to Be Buried In Bridal Robe. Body of young society woman arrives in St. Louise - Funeral today from father's home. Shrouded in the bridal robe in which she was led to the altar less than a year ago, the body of Mrs. Helene B. Ritchey, which arrived in the city yesterday morning from Hot Springs, VA., where she died last Saturday, and was taken to the home her father, A.D. Brown, 4616 Lindell boulevard, will be buried this afternoon in Bellefontaine Cemetery. The funeral will take place at the home at 2 o'clock.
The body was brought to St. Louis by her husband, John E. Ritchey, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. A.D. Brown, and her sister, Misses Vesta and Ruth Brown, who were with her when she died. The party was met at Union Station by her father, A.D. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Brown, Rev. Dr. W.J. Williamson and Charles P. Senter, a friend of the family.
Dr. Williamson, pastor of the Third Baptist Church, Grand and Washington avenues, will conduct the funeral services, and the following will be active pallbearers: Edmund Blossom, Joseph Poupeney, Charles Hill, Presley Crawford, Alden Little, Theodore Shelton, Charles McKinney and Charles Petrie. The honorary pallbearers are W.M. Sloan, Chauncey Ladd, John Hockmuth, R.F. Spencer, H.J. Zimmerman, Charles P. Ladd, L.V. Roach, W.C. Teasdale Jr., Max Stern, C.V. Anderson and E. F. Shaw.
Mrs. Ritchey's death was unexpected and a shock to her friends. She was prominent as a church and Sunday-school worker in the Third Baptist Church, and her wedding last June was one of the notable society events of the years."
