Obituary:
Helen Elizabeth Dodd Ashley, 91, died Sunday, March 10, 2002 at University Medical Center of Holmes County in Lexington.

Mrs. Ashley was a self-employed beautician for many years, a member of the Durant First United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 12 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Durant with burial in Mizpah Cemetery. Officiating minister was Rev. Johnny Dinas.

Survivors include: a son, Tommy Ashley, of Durant, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two step great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were: Ollie Ables, Mac Ables, Billy Lewis, Ken Burrell, Horace Bouchillon, and Dale Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers were Joe York and W.E. Durham.

Donations may be made to Palmer Children's Home.
