MacDonald Benson, retired upholsterer, died about 3:45 p. m. yesterday in the Memorial Hospital hwere he was taken after being stricken at noon at his home, 1100 Concord Pike.
Born in England, Mr. Benson came to this country as a boy and had lived in the Wilmongton area most of his life. He was employed for many years by the American Car and Foundry Company. He had been ill for some time.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lydia Benson; a son, MacDonald Benson, Newtown Square, Pa.; a stepson, Joseph McNamara, St. Petersburg, Fla., and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Chandler Funeral Home, Delaware Avenue and Jefferson Street. The Rev. John Taylor, rector of Grace Episcopal Church will officiate. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery.
