Friends here will regret to learn of the death of Uncle John Rainbolt, as he was familiarly known here, who passed away at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McCall, at Melvin last Sunday. The remains were buried in the Melvin cemetery Monday.
The following data has been furnished this office:
John Rainbolt was born in Llano County, Texas in 1858. He was a Trail Boss for Col. Ike T. Pryor during his young manhood days. He was married to Lizzie May Malone in 1884, and settled in Brady in 1900, where he engaged in the grocery business. He was elected County Treasurer of McCulloch County in 1912 and re-elected in 1914, serving four years, prior to moving to Santa Anna in 1917. Mr. Rainbolt was employed by S. W. Childers & Co., and B. T. Vinson during his eleven years stay in Santa Anna. In 1928 he moved from here to Sweetwater where he lived until about two months ago when he moved with his wife, son-in-law and daughter to the McCall Ranch at Melvin.
Deceased is survived by the wife and three sons, Ike P. Rainbolt of Dallas, M. W. Rainbolt, Fort Worth and J. B. Rainbolt of Santa Anna, and one daughter, Mrs. Joe McCall of Melvin
