Lucille Speldrich, 82, Sykeston, N.D., died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, N.D.
Lucille Anton was born April 12, 1927, at Van Hook, N.D., the daughter of Frank and Amelia (Klinger) Anton. She grew up and attended school at Van Hook. She married Lyle Speldrich on Feb. 11, 1947, at Van Hook. They moved to Sykeston in 1948, where they farmed until 1979. He died May 15, 1979. She worked at Sykeston School as a cook and a bus driver for many years. She also worked for Donna's Diner and Golden Acres, both Carrington, N.D. She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Church and St. Joseph's Society. She enjoyed the farm, the livestock and her cat.
She is survived by a son, Steve (Connie), Sykeston; three daughters, Ardell (Darnell) Fetch, Elgin, N.D., and Armella (Lawrence) Hetle and Celine (Scott) Fetch, both Sykeston; a sister, Meg Giesen, Makoti, N.D.; a brother, Wilfrud, West Fargo, N.D.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 16 brothers and sisters and an infant grandson.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Elizabeth's Church, Sykeston, with the Rev. Dace Syverson officiating.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
Burial: St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Sykeston.
