Charles Blair 1860-1934

Charles James Blair, 71 years of age, a Holst Township farmer and a resident of Clearwater County for 35 years, passed away Monday, June 12 at the Clearwater Hospital after a long illness. The cause of death was cancer.
Charles Blair was born in the state of Michigan, November 9th, 1860 and came to what is now Clearwater County when a young man. He was married at Bemidji on Easter Sunday in 1900 to Mary McCrehin and to this union were born four children: Ellen, James, Frank and Esther.
The deceased has been in ill health for about for about two years, suffering from the dread disease of cancer. He passed away Monday morning at 9:30 at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 28 days.
Surviving the deceased are two daughters, Mrs. Iron Ingalls of this county and Mrs. Harry Zaske of Brainerd and one son, Frank Blair, residing at home. His wife passed away December 10th, 1931 from injuries received in an automobile accident. One son, James Blair, also died following an accident, his death occurring when he was 18 years old.
Surviving also are four brothers and two sisters, Alfred and Ed Blair of Fremont, Michigan, Merril Blair of San Gabriel, California, Frank Blair, located near Fremont, Michigan; Mrs. Alice Charloneau and Mrs. John Schneider of Grand Rapids. There are two grandchildren surviving, Wade and Jean Zaske.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, June 14th at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Rev. O.I. Rossing officiating and the Peterson Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
