Obituary:
Irene "Ma" Tripp, age 78, of Grand Haven and formerly of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007, at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. She was born February 5, 1929, in Grand Haven to Charles and Ida Mae (McLinda) Arbogast, and she married Robert D. Tripp on June 22, 1951, in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1972. Mrs. Tripp was a member of the Church of Christ New Smyrna Beach in Florida, and she loved the warm weather of Florida. She also enjoyed playing cribbage. Survivors include two daughters, Janis (John) Efremoff of Traverse City and Jeri (Earl) LaFave of Grand Haven; two sons, Brian (Heidi) Tripp and Brad (Laura) Tripp, both of Grand Haven; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Frances (Alex) Doering of Spring Lake and Josephine Lee of Holt, MI. She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Tripp, in 1974; a sister, Violet Yeager; and two brothers, Charles Arbogast Jr. and Courtney Arbogast. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the Salvation Army in Grand Haven. Memorial contributions in Irene's name may be made to Harbor Hospice.
