On April 16, 1920, Ruby was united in marriage to John Thomas Collier in Deepwater, MO and to this union eleven children were born. Ruby moved from Eureka, MO to Cherryville, MO over 30 years ago. She was a member of the Cherryville Baptist Church, where she loved to attend and where she once taught Sunday School. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Thomas Collier; twin sister Ruth Wood; sister Audrey Wilson; and brother Leslie Lawrence Morgan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Eva Collier Kincaid and husband Glen, Ida Collier Jackson Waddell, Charles Frances Collier, Henry Lewis Collier, Edward Alva Collier and William Franklin "Frank" Collier; five sons, Victor Oswald Collier, Henry Lewis (Red) Collier and wife Dolly, Robert Leslie Collier, Clifford Dean Collier, John Thomas (Jack) Collier, Jr.; and one daughter Shirley Shireen Collier Moreland and husband Gene.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her dear children: William Eugene (Bill) Collier and wife Ruth of Cherryville, MO, Charles Edward (Chuck) Collier of Wichita, KS, Kenneth Lee "Ken" Collier and wife Myra of New Orleans, LA, Charlotte Dahmer and husband Larry of Lees Summit, MO, and Judy Hewkin of Davisville, MO; daughter-in-law Rita Collier of Homestead, FL; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Ruby Collier.
Memorial Service was held on Monday, April 21, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Cherryville Baptist Church with Rev. Harry White officiating. Burial was in the Cherryville Baptist Cemetery, Cherryville, MO. All arrangements were under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, MO.
