Christopher Michael Woody, age 35, of French Creek, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at his home. He was born May 20, 1974, in Upshur County, the son of Debra Lee Woody (Bailey) and Gary Wayne Woody. Chris is also survived by his sister Misty Dawn Woody, nephew Ian Michael Woody. Chris had two children with Glenna Rae Woody Detamore: daughter Kayla Michele Woody and one son Jonathan Michael Woody of Buckhannon with his fiance Sara Jo Loudin, grandson Christopher Mason Woody and grand daughter Maggie Jane Woody; Chris has one stepbrother, Matthew Wayne Woody and one stepsister, Natalie Danielle Woody both of Buckhannon; paternal grandparents, Fred and Wilma Woody of Buckhannon and paternal great grandmother, Gilsie Tenney of Selbyville; maternal grandmother, Betty Lee Bailey of French Creek; he is also survived by several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Claude "Bud" Gay Bailey.
Chris was a 1992 graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School. He loved to hunt,fish,and play music in his band. Chris was a very loving person and always had a smile on his face. He was a great son, brother, and father. Chris was employed as a construction worker by Gary Woody and Sons Construction.
