He was a Master Mason of Robert White Lodge No. 67, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 896, and member of the American Legion Post 0014. He was an avid sportsman and known for his love of hunting, fishing and trapping, and was a lifetime member of the American Riflemen Association and the National Trappers Association.
His love was for the farm. He had raised hogs, chickens and cattle, managed an apple orchard, and planted and sold Christmas trees. He also worked in the construction industry at times as an ironworker and a certified welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Dorothy Flagg.
Bobby donated his body to WVU Medical. A memorial was placed August 18, 2008. Pleasant View Memory Gardens is located next to the site of "White Hall" which no longer exists. White Hall was the boyhood home of his father Dorsey Slemons Flagg
