REV. RAY ABBOTT, 71; E AND R MINISTER
The Rev. Ray E. P. Abbott, 71, retired Evangelical and Reformed minister, died Saturday in his home at 312 Washington St., Port Richey, Fla. He was the husband of L. Dorine (Hess) Abbott and the late Elsie (Bersch) Abbott.

He served served charges in Nescopeck, Luzerne Co.; Danville, Montour Co.; McConnellstown, Huntingdon Co., and Silver Run, MD.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late William H. Abbott and the late Sarah (Meckes) Abbott Diefenderfer.

Surviving with his widow are three daughters, Mrs. Richard Sigley and Mrs. Thomas Burkhardt, both of Bethlehem, and Judith M. of Bath; six sons, William H. of Spring Grove, York County, Russell D. of Knoxville, Tenn., John E. of Washington, NJ, and Mark A., Matthew A. and Gregory R., all of Port Richey; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Yocum, Mrs. Roy Van Billiard and Mrs. Dorothy Koch, all of Bethlehem; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in King of Kings Lutheran Church, Port Richey. Memorial services will be in Bethlehem at a later date. The Wallace M. Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, is in charge of local arrangements.
