The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Lamar Moore. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Trexler was born in Rowan County on March 31, 1915, to James Pickney Trexler and Maggie Lovetta Chunn Trexler. He was retired from Erlanger Mills and was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Almon Trexler, on March 23, 2007; a son, Francis Marcus Trexler; and two sisters, Rosa Lee Williams and Lucille Steinkraus.
Surviving are two daughters; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, J.P. Trexler and his wife, Mabel, of Salisbury, and L.C. Trexler and his wife, Nancy, of Charlotte; and two sisters, Faye Hilliard and her husband, Bill, of Salisbury and Lorene Hall of Charlotte.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service Thursday.
