Roy Boatright, 81, dies
Roy Boatright, 81, of 807 S. Buchanan St., Marion, died at 7:30 a.m. today, May 29, 1981, in Marion Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Saline county on July 14, 1899, to Mack and Cora Blackburn Boatright.
He was married to Mary Taylor in 1938 in Charleston, Mo.
Mr. Boatright was a retired schoolteacher; he had taught in the Marion area for 43 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Barion and Fellowship Masonic Lodge No. 89.
Survivors are his wife; four brothers, Wilbern and Loyd, both of Marion, Leeman of West Frankfort and Walter of Decatur.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
