MARY MATTES
Mrs. George F. Mattes of Rt. 1, Kiel, died early Friday at Memorial Hospital, Sheboygan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed Church, Kiel. The Rev. E. L. Worthman will officiate and burial will be in the Rockville Cemetery.
She was born Mary Paulina Zorn at Louis Corners in 1877, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Zorn, and in 1904 was married to George F. Mattes.
They located on the Mattes homestead farm in Schleswig. She was a member of the Women's Guild of the St. Peter congregation and a charter member of the Rockville Merrygoround Club.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Rudolph of Rockville and Erwin of Walnut, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Ruppenthal of Hilbert and Mrs. Ida Voigt of Collins; brother John, of Rhine; and five grandchildren.
The couple observed its golden wedding in 1954.
