Olive A. Barnes, 88, of Aledo died Wednesday January 6, 2010 at her daughters home in Dayton, Ohio. Services are 1:00 PM Thursday January 14, 2010 at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in Peniel Cemetery. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home where memorials may be left to the Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.

She was born June 14, 1921 in Keithsburg, IL a daughter of Roy and Frances Gaylor Hays. She attended the New Boston and Bay Island Schools and married Charles "Francis" Barnes Febraury 21, 1941 in Davenport, IA. He died March 10, 1999.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the Keithsburg Christian Church and she enjoyed flowers, sewing, scrap booking, family history, needlework, collecting dolls and birds.

She is survived by a daughter; Elizabeth (Bruce) Johnson of Dayton, OH, 2 grandchildren; Jennifer Smith of Dayton, OH, Matthew(Leedella) Johnson of Tipp City, OH 9 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Helen Armstrong of Viola, Frances Huber of Aledo, and 3 brothers; Clinton Hays of Viola, Raymond Hays of Alexis and Leslie Hays of Kirkwood. IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 brothers.
