Billy graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1946 and is in their football and basketball Hall of Honor. He graduated from Sam Houston State University and received his M.Ed from the University of Houston. Mr. Daniels served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War, receiving three battle stars before being honorably discharged. He started his coaching career at Hamilton Middle School in 1955. Mr. Daniels continued coaching for Reagan High School from 1960 till 1968, when he accepted the position of Assistant Principal. He was Assistant Athletic Director for Boy's Athletics for H.I.S.D., and Superintendent of Delmar Stadium. Mr. Daniels felt one of his greatest accomplishments was being inducted into the Houston Coaches Association Hall of Honor in 1994.
