He was the son of Edward Payson and his second wife Mary Eliot. He married Bathsheba Tileston February 18, 1670. (Dorchester Church Records) Bathsheba was the daughter of Thomas Tilestone & Elizabeth. She died in Dorchester February 20, 1682. He married second Hannah_______, who died at Roxbury November 25, 1724.

John, son of Edward & Ann Payson, was born at Roxbury, 11 Jun 1643.
He married by 1670 Bathsua Tilestone (eldest known child b. Dorchester 18 September 1670 [DVR 12]; on 18 February 1671[/2], "Bathshuah the daughter of Thomas Tilstone who married with Jno. Pason was dismissed to join to the church at Rocksbery, she was not in full communion as yet."
