She was born February 11, 1923 to the late Edwin Pate and Laura Cassell Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Pate and godson, Shelvan Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Robert Pate of Roanoke; three daughters, Barbara Reynolds of New Britain, CT, Dona Pate of Roanoke and Danette L. Casey of Greensboro, NC; goddaughters, Lula Mae Hampton of Detroit, MI and Jean Brown Tucker of Roanoke; a host of grands, great-grands and great-great grandchildren; special devoted friends, Mattline Grogan and sister, Frances, Alice Bruce, Geraldine Harper and family and Winston Miller, all of Roanoke. A host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 11, 2010 in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with the Dr. Elder Nathan Harper officiating.
The interment in Williams Memorial Park.
