Funeral services for Raymond H. Lindgren, 81, of Dignan Lane in Niles, are Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Canon Marian M. Kencik officiating.
Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
Lindgren died on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
He was born on May 8 1922 in Niles. On May 9 1942 in South Bend, he was married to Agnes M. Brothers, who survives.
Lindgren was a resident of this area most of his life. He retired in 1982 as an engineer from Torrington Co. in South Bend
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a veteran of Worl War II.
As a former POW, he erned a purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He was a member of the D.A.V. in Elkhart, Ind. and had attended Penn State and Indiana University.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes: a son Harold R. Lindgren of Niles: a daughter, Colleen P. Klindworth of Niles: two grandchildren, Darren Lindgren of Massachusetts and Amy Adams of Niles: two great-grandchildren, Ryan M. Lindgren and Ian Adams: a brother, Robert Lindgren of South Bend.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A Rosary will be read at 8 p.m. with Rev. Canon Marian M. Kencik officiating.
