Corporal "Wilson" had passed away from injuries received in an airplane crash in Chattanooga, TN.

On that rainy day, he was one of three men that were flying in an Army bomber plane as part of a training exercise when engine trouble from the left side forced them into making an emergency landing. As they were circling around the airport in an attempt to land safely on the airstrip, the plane had struck a rock quarry, "skipped" three times & crashed nose-first. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pilot of the plane, 1LT Henry Parrott Bacot (#70657027) passed away from his injuries three days after the tragedy.

PVT Joseph Butirlia/Buturia (sources varied) was the sole survivor of the crash, having received only minor injuries due to him having sat in the rear of the plane.
