ELGIN Funeral for Jim Glover Jr., 87, Elgin, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church of Fletcher with Jim Hall, Coy Reimer, and Billy Paul Eakins officiating.

Mr. Glover passed in peace on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at his home in Elgin following a brief illness.

Burial will be at Elgin Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Elgin Funeral Home.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1922, in Ninnekah to Hattie Lou (Sims) and Jim Glover. He traveled around the country competing in bull-riding and rodeo events before returning to Southwest Oklahoma. He married Opal Mae Adams in 1945. She passed away in 1976. He married Marilyn Brown Lusk in 1977. She passed away in 2007. Jim resided most of his life in Elgin, where he was successful as a rancher, cattle buyer, and oil investor. He enjoyed daily visits with members of the Elgin community and watching the continued growth of the Elgin area.

He is survived by three sons: Jim R. Glover and his wife Linda, Elgin; Tommy Earl Glover and his wife Kathy, Lawton; Larry Wayne Glover and his wife Janice, Elgin; 3 daughters: Colleen Holcomb and her husband Larry; Sheila Corbett and her husband, Josh, Elgin; Jana Lancaster and her husband Don, Weatherford, Texas; three sisters: Mattie McDonald and her husband James, Apache; Kathryn Miller, Elgin; Myrtle Pierce, Lawton; a brother, Earl Glover and his wife, Suzanne,Lawton; twelve grandchildren: James Bruce Glover, Jennifer Rae Glover, Tim Glover, Brent Beeson, Dave McLane, Kyle Glover, Kara Hayden, Kay Lynn Glover, Garrick Lancaster, Elliot Lancaster, Kelby Corbett, and Kenzy Corbett; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special niece Patsy and her husband Carles Sowers; and close family friend, Dr. Dan Horton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; three brothers: Tommie, Jeff, and Neal Glover; two sisters: Nell Stallings and Ruth Seals; a daughter, Janice Ann McLane; two sons: John and Joey Lusk; 1 granddaughter, Brandi Mae Glover; and a grandson, Dale McLane.
