Funeral Held Saturday For Mrs. R. M. Johnston --
Mrs. R. M. Johnston, 66, died at her home in Granbury Friday August 7 after a long illness.
Funeral services were held at Acton August 8th by Rev. R. L. McCord. Interment was in Acton cemetery. Old friends and neighbors were pall bearers: Mrs. Lee Hiner, Mrs. S. P. Lusk, Mrs. Akard Donathan, Mrs. J. A. Woods, Mrs. Mattie Camp, Mrs. Dick Rash.
Mrs. Johnston is survived by her husband, R. M. Johnston, Granbury; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Wilkerson and Mrs. Jesse Gilliam, Granbury; son Joe Johnston, camp Barkeley. Also, one brother, Hugh Duckworth and four sisters: Mrs. Earl Kelley, Granbury; Mrs. Carrie Brooks, McAlister, Oklahoma; Mrs. Elmer Davis, Waco; Mrs. Tiner Russell, San Antonio, also two grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnston was born and raised in Hood county, the daughter of early settlers, W. J. Duckworth and wife. She was loved by family and neighbors whose hearts are saddened at her passing. Her patience thru her long illness was remarkable and the community lost a fine character in the death of Mrs. Johnston.
