James M. Barber, 71, a carpenter of Cedar Grove, died Tuesday in Montgomery General Hospital after an illness lasting ten days. He is survived by five daughters: Miss Gaynell Barber, Annapolis; Mrs. Fred Chesky and Mrs. William Steinebach, Philadelphia; Miss Catherine Barber and Miss Maude Barber, Cedar Grove; three sons, Malcolm, Woodsboro; Elridge and Garner, Cedar Grove; three brothers, Edward H., Laytonsville; Charles H., Cedar Grove, and Hezekiah, Washington. Funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. at Salem M. E. church, Cedar Grove, with interment in adjoining cemetery. Roy W. Barber, funeral director.

James M. Barber, 71, lifelong resident of Cedar Grove, died last week at the Montgomery County General Hospital, Sandy Spring, after an illness of ten days.
The funeral, who was a son of the late Greenbury, leaves eight children, Miss Catherine Barber, Miss Maude Barber and Eldridge and Garner Barbe, all of Cedar Grove; Mrs. William Steinbach and Mrs Frederick Chesky, both of Philadelphia, and Gaynell Barber, Annapolis, and Malcolm Barber, Woodsboro; an adopted daughter, Margaret Iglehart, Arlington, Va. and three brothers, Edward H. Barber, Laytonsville; Charles H. Barber, Cedar Grove, and Hezekiah Barber, Washington.
