"COLDWATER CHEF EXPIRES
Burton F. Studebaker [SFNA #C343-722], 53, of Coldwater Route 5, chef at Gracie O'Shanahan's restaurant since 1947 died [of myocardial infarction] Saturday at 7:35 a.m. at Lakeview General Hospital in Battle Creek following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Putnam funeral home, with Mrs. Georgia E. Best, of the Christian Sciences church, in charge. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

Mr. Studebaker was born Jan. 6, 1909 in Indianapolis, Ind., the son of William [LeRoy] and Ruth Studebaker. [Note: Ruth Ann Heisel was Roy's second wife and loving step-mother to his three children with first wife Agnes May (Watts) Studebaker, 1885-1910.]

He was employed by Crowley-Milners [department store] in Detroit as service manager of their National cash registers for many years, and also worked for Sam's Department Store, Inc., before coming to Coldwater in 1947.

He married Grace Matousek in Coldwater May 29, 1950. She survives along with [the deceased's] two sons, Gerald and Charles Studebaker; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Sandra) Cryderman; a brother, Bruce F. Studebaker; and a granddaughter. Denise Cryderman, [and first wife Dorothy L. Studebaker] all of [metropolitan] Detroit."
