Mrs. Welcome Ayer, 73, of Lancaster, Mo., well known Schuyler County resident, died Friday night in a Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Ia., where she had been a patient only a few hours.
She was the daughter of John Ewell and Stella (North) Berry and was born September 8, 1896.
In 1945 she was married to Ben Ayer, who preceded her in death in 1962. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers. She is survived by one sister and one brother.
Mrs. Ayer taught school in Schuyler County for many years.
A private service was held Sunday by the Rev. John Fox. Burial was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery at Lancaster, Mo.
The body was at the Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City, Mo.
The casket remained closed.
