MAMOU-A wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Elden Brunet will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Elden died peacefully on Saturday, January 09, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was 67. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou with Father Jude Thierry officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in the New tS. Ann's Mausoleum.
Elden was a life-long farmer and was a past member of the Police Jury and the Cruisin' Cajun Motor Coach Club. The things that brought Elden the most joy in his life were being with his family and friends.
Elden leaves behind a loving and grateful family including his loving wife of 49 years, Gerri Brunet of Mamou; a loving son, Wendell Brunet and wife, Michelle of Mamou; two loving daughters, Daphne B. Krampe and husband, E.J. of Lafayette, and Kathy B. Soileau and huband, Bo of Ville Platte; one brother, Darwin Brunet and wife, Elta of Tupelo, MS; as well as the littlest joys of his life, his eight grandchildren, Grant and Bennett Krampe, Emily, Brandon, Sarah, Kathryn, and Evyn Soileau, and Gabrielle and Drake Brunet.
Now he rests in heaven with his beloved parents, Evy and Phelma Brunet.
The family requests that visitation take place on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 9:00 am until time of Services at Ardoin Funeral Home in Mamou. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 am Monday.
The family would also like to extend their thanks and gratefulness to Hospice of Mamou and to HomeCare of Mamou for their understanding and care.
