Maj. Carl L. Stoneking, USAF, was killed Feb. 8 with his flying student at Kokomo, Ind. Memorial services were held Feb. 10 at Bunker Hill Air Force Base, Ind. He was given a full military funeral Feb. 19 at Arlington National Cemetery. His grave is located on Grand Ave., within sight of President Kennedy's grave.

A veteran of 28 combat missions during the Korean War and a B-58 pilot, he was born 40 years ago on Big Run, near Coburn, Wetzel County, the son of Arthur L. Stoneking and the late Opal Willey Stoneking. Surviving are his wife, Jo, two children, Carla, 15, and David, 11; five brothers and four sisters.
