Maurine Cowan Miller was born May 1, 1923 to Glade and Alta Leetham Cowan in Payson, Utah, and died December 20, 2009 in Murray, Utah. She resided at 4638 South Shamrock Circle (345 East) in Murray, Utah at the time of her death.


She graduated from Payson High School and BYU. She married George A. Miller on June 19, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.


She loved serving in the LDS Church and its organizations. Her favorite was the Gospel Doctrine teacher in which she served for many years. She served with her husband in the Massachusetts Boston Mission and as ordinance workers in the Jordan River and Washington, DC Temples. She has worked over the years in Family History Research and has compiled six family history books.


She is survived by her children Larry Miller (Nancy), Dennis Miller (Paula), Theron Miller (Joy) and Larene Wyss (Robert); twenty grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; and her twin sister Darlene Butler (Jack). She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one sister.


Friends may greet the family at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), on Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place in the Murray Third Ward Chapel, 4600 South Brown Street (160 East), on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may greet the family at the Church on Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
