Daphne Eloise Nelson, 85, of Olathe, Kan., beloved wife and mother, passed away January 7, 2010, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2010, at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe, Kan. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at the funeral home, with burial following in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Stanley, Kan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Alzheimer's Association . Daphne was born in Gas City, Kan., to Everett Roberts and Lulu Blagg. She retired after working for Sears Metcalf South after being a switchboard operator. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lulu and Everett Roberts. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her husband, Leo F. Nelson of Olathe; sons Gregory F. Nelson of Wichita, Kan., and Kirk A. Nelson of St. Louis, Mo.; grandsons Micah G. Nelson of Wichita, Kan., Jay P. Nelson of St. Louis, Mo.; granddaughters Carrie L. Carney of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kristin L. Denham of St. Louis, Mo., and Lindsey M. Nelson of St. Louis, Mo.
