Funeral services for Wesley E. Ray, age 74, of Tecula, was at 2 p.m. Monday at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville with Rev. Carroll Scott officiating. Burial was in Mixon Cemetery. Mr. Ray died Dec. 30. He was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Brownsboro to Clyde Milford Ray and Amanda Miller Ray. He was a member of Philadelphia Church of God at Mount Pleasant, a retired truck driver for Flying H and owned a saw mill in Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Gail Ray and two brothers Clyde Ray, Jr. and Odell Ray. Survivors include his ex-wife, Mary Ann Waites Ray of Tecula; two daughters and sons-in-law, Genia Ann and Michael Bender of Mixon and Brenda L. and James Johnson of Overton; a son, Dennis R. Ray of Tecula; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Claudean and Martha Ray of Tecula, Bobby and Lilly Ray of Tecula and Benny and Leesa Ray of Henderson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marbra Surber of Afton Grove and Bertha May and Tim Zoellner of Benton, Ark.; two sisters-in-law Letha Ray of Tecula and Lafayette Thompson of Athens, eight grandchildren Amy Torres, Alysha Castagno, Christopher Ray, Dustin Ray, Christina Ray, Lashawna Jensen, Krystle Jones and Robert Johnson; and 10 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers were David Zoellner, Ray Zoellner, John Zoellner, John Glenn Ray, John Ray and Jeff Ray. Honorary pallbearer was Billy Jones.
