Patsy died as a result of major injuries from a traffic accident. While going to Meadville she was blinded by the sun and turned into the path of an 18-wheeler on Monday, 24 March 2001. Her son, Aaron, was also critically injured in the same accident . They were both helivaced to the University Hospital in Jackson,MS shortly after the accident.

ROXIE - Services for Patricia Shell, 59, of Roxie, who died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 2 P.M. Monday at Roxie United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.Visitation is from 5 to 9 P.M. Sunday and from 8 A.M. to noon Monday at the funeral home and from 1 P.M. until service time Monday at the church.
Mrs. Shell was born Aug. 9, 1942, in Natchez, the daughter of John Harrigill and Doris Harrigill Carter.She was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church.
Mrs. Shell was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Shell Sr.; her father, John Harrigill; a sister, Katherine Young; and a brother, Charles Harrigill.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Shell of Crosby, Steve Shell of Medicine Park, Okla. and Aaron "Bud" Shell Jr. of Roxie; her mother, Doris Harrigill Carter of Roxie; four brothers, Fred Harrigill of Jackson, Jack Harrigill of Roxie, Bobby Harrigill of Natchez and Larry Harrigill of Vicksburg; two sisters, Agnes Kaiser of Natchez and Jewell Farmer of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
