Mary Elizabeth Blubaugh, 87, of 46 N. Church St., widow of the Rev. David A. Blubaugh, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at the Waynesboro Hospital. She had been in failing health
for the past three years following stroke and was admitted to the hospital March 10.
Mrs. Blubaugh was born at Greencastle R. D. 3, December 2, 1879, daughter of the late
Jacob and Mary M. (Gossard) Boward. Her early life was lived at her birthplace. For 20 years, she had resided in Hagerstown. Following her marriage in 1920, the family moved to Waynesboro in 1927. The Rev. Mr. Blubaugh died in March of 1948.
She was a member of the Otterbein United Brethren.Church, Women's Missionary Society for 74 years, Women's Bible Class and served as superintendent of the Primary Department for 35 years. Mrs. Blubaugh was active in the WCTU and served as vice president from her church for many years. She is survived by the following children: Percy D. Blubaugh, Washington, D. C ; Mrs. Norma H. Gibble,Shippensburg; Clark R. Blubaugh, Mrs. Harold C. Shuck and Paul A. Blubaugh, all of Waynesbpro. Also surviving are six
grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Alice Hafer, Pittsburgh; Miss Pearl Boward and Mrs. Elva Bondra, born of Seattle, Wash., and Daniel Boward, Hagerstown.

Services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home with the Rev. George E. Weaver officiating. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.
