John Arthur Coody

After a long illness, John Arthur Coody, 48, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2010. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, January 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

John was a life-long resident of Beaumont and Nederland. He was a woodworker and carpenter and was stationed in Germany during his service in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his father Homer Kendall Coody, Sr. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Mary Jo Coody; sister, Ferrell Baskins and husband, Rev. Danny Baskins, brother, Homer Kendall Coody, Jr., and brother, James W. Coody; and nieces and nephews, Casey Leigh Person, Mitchell Person, Jennifer Leigh Coody, and Lilly Chapa.

John had many friends and family who loved him dearly. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
