Born in the Mexican State Coahuila on the Red River near the present City of CLARKSVILLE. At an early age he clerked and kept books for A.T. Monroe (business man of Crockett,TX) 1855 became County Treasurer of Houston County. January, 1857 Married Eliza Jane Masters. April,1858 became County Clerk of Houston County serving in that office until 1868. Member of the Lothrop Masonic Lodge & Palentine Commandery of Royal Arch Mason.

To the Officers and Members of
Crockett Lodge, No. 503 K. of H.
We, the committee appointed to draft resolutions on the death of Brother Oliver C Aldrich, beg leave to submit the following:
WHEREAS, It has pleased the Supreme Director of the Universe to remove from our midst our late brother, O.C. Aldrich, and
WHEREAS, It is but just that a fitting recognition of his many virtues be had; Therefore be it
Resolved, That in death of Brother Aldrich, this Lodge laments the loss of a brother who was ever ready to proffer the hand of aid and sympathy to the needy and distressed of the fraternity; an active member of this Lodge, whose earnest endeavors were exerted for its welfare and prosperity; a friend and companion who was dear to us all; a citizen whose upright and noble life was a standard of emulation to his fellows.
Resolve, That these resolutions be spread upon the record of this Lodge and a copy thereof be transmitted to the family of our deceased brother, and to each of the newspapers of Crockett with a request to publish.

WEDDING: There was a very pretty wedding at the residence of Judge A.A. Aldrich this evening at 3 o'clock. Miss Lizzie Aldrich, the youngest daughter of the late O.C. Aldrich, who was County Clerk of Houston County for nearly 30 years, was married to Mr C.M. Newton, of Waco, Texas, Rev SF Tenney officiating. The bride is loved by all for her many sterling traits of character.
