Joe Robert Carr, 57, of Irvine and formerly of Paris, a Bypass Rentals salesman, died Monday, January 4, 2010 of injuries received in automobile accident. He was born April 11, 1952 in Paris, son of the late Floyd Elwood and Sally Kelly Carr, a 1970 graduate of Paris High School, and attended Morehead State University. Joe was a Kentucky Colonel, a professional bowler, member of Bourbon Street Cruisers, an avid UK fan and animal lover, and loved striper fishing. He is survived by a brother, Delwood (Martha "Bop") Carr, Paris; an aunt, Geneva Kelly; and two cousins, Gene Johnson and Joanna Spies, all of Paris. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. No service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one's favorite animal charity.
