She was born December 10, 1914 in Okalla, Texas to William Dixon Goodwin and Etta Jane Gillum Goodwin. She was a resident of Baytown since 1937.
Lucille loved the Lord, her church, and her family. She also had many friends whom she loved and who loved her. She found great joy working in her yard and had many pretty plants.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, T.C. Saxon Sr., four brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include her daughter Linda Hilyard and husband Ben of Baytown; son, Tommy Saxon and wife Judy of Cleveland; sister, Evaughn Malmin of Temple; sister-in-law, Audy Harper of Hemphill; grandchildren, Stacy Saxon, Susan Saxon, Kevin Hilyard and wife Renee all of Baytown, Alan Hilyard and wife Gretchen of Houston; great-grandchildren, Taylor Hilyard, Tanner Hilyard, Sara Hilyard, Trevor Ridling, Madelyn Hilyard, and Greg Hilyard.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 29 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the Navarre Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am with Rev. Tommy Clements of Second Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Freddie Garner, Morris Goodwin, Gary Bailey, and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Bennie Sparkman, Mike Harvey, and the Naomi Sunday School Class.
In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 6227 N. Main St. Baytown, TX 77521.
