Owen Riley Puffer, infant son of Rachel Severson and Chaz Puffer, of Decorah, Iowa, was born and died on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester of Trisomy 18.
Survivors include his parents, Rachel Severson and Chaz Puffer, Decorah; grandparents, Donna and Kevin Eberling, Postville, Iowa, Matt and Shelly Severson, Spring Grove, Joe Puffer, Cherry Point, N.C., Lynn Puffer, Burr Oak, Iowa, and George Rau, Jacksonville, Fla.; great-grandparents, Vickie Harvey, Decorah, Gerald Harvey, Decorah, Vern and Diane Severson, Brooke Park, Minn., Walter Puffer, Cresco, Iowa, Kay Puffer, Sacramento, Calif., Ray and Flora Kendrick of Bremerton, Wash., Shirley Eberling, Postville, Tony and Deb Schulte, Spring Grove, and Mary Rau, Jacksonville, Fla.; great-great-grandparents, Howard and Elsie Finnesand, Sisseton, S.D., Ann Severson, Brooklyn Center, Minn., and Kay Mettille, Waterville; and aunts and uncles, Thomas (Amanda) Severson, Christopher Severson, Michelle Severson, Keona Eberling, Kiele Eberling, Dallas Puffer, Gavin Puffer and Dalton Schulte.
He was preceded in death by his great-great-grandparents, Milo and Alma Harvey; Vernon Severson, Sr.; Karlton Eberling; Ray Mettille; and William and Ruth Doepke.
A funeral service was held Dec. 15 at the Schluter - Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, with the Rev. Bryan Robertson presiding. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery, Postville.
