Major League Baseball Player. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a outfielder and a left handed pitcher, nicknamed “Yatz”. He played most of his career in the Minor Leagues, making his Major League debut as a pitcher for the Cleveland Blues on September 15, 1888. For two seasons, he played with the Cleveland Blues in 1888 and Syracuse Stars 1890. As a pitcher he had a record of 3 wins, 4 loss, 20 strikeouts, 1 shutout and a 3.81 earned run average. As a hitter, he compiled a record of 20 hits, 16 runs scored, 1 home run, 7 runs batted in and a .263 batting average. He died at age 77 in New Burlington, Ohio.
